【摘要】:SputterdepthprofilingisusedinconjunctionwithAugerelectronspectroscopy,x-rayphotoelectronspectroscopy,ionscatteringspectroscopy,andsecondaryionmassspectrometrytodeterminethechemicalcompositionandatomicconcentrationasafunctionofdistancefromthesurfaceofaspecimen.SeeGuideE1127.Thediameteroftheionbeamusedforsputteringmustbespecifiedandthispracticeisarelativelyquickmethodofmeasuringtheshape(thatis,currentdensitydistribution)oftheionbeamifasuitableFaradaycupisnotavailable.31.1Thispracticedescribesasimpleandapproximatemethodfordeterminingtheshapeandcurrentdensityofionbeams.Thepracticeislimitedtoionbeamsofdiametergreaterthan0.5mmofthetypeusedforsputteringofsolidsurfacestoobtainsputterdepthprofiles.Itisassumedthattheion-beamcurrentdensityissymmetricalaboutthebeamaxis.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
