【摘要】:ThistestmethodprovidesasemiquantitativeestimateoftheacidnumberoflubricatingoilsobtainedfromlaboratoryoxidationtestsusingsmalleramountsofsamplethanTestMethodsD974,D664,orD3339.IthasspecificapplicationinTestMethodD943andinTestMethodD4871.Thistestmethod,therefore,providesameansofmonitoringtherelativeoxidationoflubricatingoilsbymeasuringchangesinacidnumber,atdifferenttimeintervalsandundervariousoxidizingtestconditions.Sincethistestmethodissemiquantitative,eachlaboratoryshalldevelopitsowncriteriaforeachoxidationtestmethodfordeterminingwhentoswitchfromthissemiquantitativetestmethodtoamoreprecisetestmethodforacidnumber.1.1Thistestmethodisasemiquantitativemicromethodintendedformonitoringthechangesinacidicconstituentsoccurringinlubricatingoilsduringoxidationtesting,whentheacidnumberofsuchoilsfallswithintherangefrom0.02to1.0mgofpotassiumhydroxidepergramofsample.Itisapplicabletosuchoilsasturbineoils,hydraulicoils,andothercirculatingoils.Note1-ThistestmethodisamicroversionofTestMethodD974anditproducesresultssimilartothatmethod.1.2Thistestmethodisdesignedforusewheresamplesizeislimited.ItshallnotbeusedasareplacementforhigherprecisionmethodssuchasTestMethodsD974orD664.Itshallnotbeusedtomonitoroilsin-service.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
