【摘要】:Paintspattergeneratedbyrollerapplicationisdependentonthepropertiesofboththepaintbeingappliedandthepaintrollercoverusedfortheapplication.Toeliminatetheinfluenceofthepaintrollercoverasavariable,andthusrestrictthespatter-inducingvariabletothepaintundertestonly,thepaintrollercoverisreplacedbyastandardnotchedspoolrollertogeneratespatterbyamechanismthatsimulatesthatofapaint-applyingrollercover.Althoughmostofthedevelopmentworktoestablishthistestmethodwasundertakenusinglatexpaints,sufficientworkwasalsodonetoshowitsapplicabilitytosolvent-reduciblepaints.Testsduringthedevelopmentofthistestmethodshowedthatthespatteringpropertiesofpaints,likeotherphysicalproperties,mayintimechange.Therefore,theresultsofthistestarevalidonlyforthetimewhenthetestisrun.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthetendencyofapainttospatterwhenappliedwithapaintrollertoasubstrate.1.2Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblemsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
