【摘要】:Theinspection,testing,andrepairoflateralconnectionsforsanitarysewersareregularpracticenecessaryforthemaintenanceandoptimalperformanceofthesystem.Itisimportanttoidentifymethodsthatusethemostcurrentcompoundsandtechnologytoensurethereductionofinfiltrationandexfiltration.Itisimportanttominimizedisruptiontotrafficandlessentheenvironmentalimpactsforboththemunicipalandprivateowners.Thispracticeservesasameanstoinspect,test,andsealsewerlateralconnectionsandapredeterminedportionofthelaterallinesfromthemainlinesewer,havingselectedtheappropriatechemicalgroutsusingthelateralpackermethod.Television(oroptical)inspectionandsewerlateralconnectiontestingareusedtoassesstheconditionanddocumentanyrepairs.Thispracticeshouldnotbeusedwheremainlineandlateralconnectionsarefoundwithlongitudinallycrackedpipe,structurallyunsoundpipe,orflattenedoroutofroundpipe.1.1Thispracticecoverstheproceduresfortestingandsealingsewerlateralconnectionsandlaterallinesfromthemainlinesewerwithappropriatechemicalgroutsusingthelateralpackermethod.Chemicalgroutingisusedtostopinfiltrationofgroundwaterandexfiltrationofsewageingravityflowsewersystemsthatarestructurallysound.1.2Thispracticeappliestomainlinesewerdiametersof6to24in.with4,5,or6in.diameterlaterals.Largerdiameterpipeswithlateralconnectionsandlinescanbegroutedwithspecialpackersorman-entrymethods.Themainlineandlateralpipesmustbestructurallyadequatetocreateaneffectiveseal.1.3Workersafetytrainingshouldincludereviewingthebiohazardsandgasesfromsewage,confinedspaces,pumpingequipment,andrelatedapparatus.Additionalsafetyconsiderationsincludingproperhandling,mixing,andtransportingofchemicalgroutsshouldbeprovidedbythechemicalgroutmanufacturerorsupplier,orboth.Theirsafeoperatingpracticesandproceduresshoulddescribeindetailappropriatepersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE)forthevariousgroutingoperations.Operationscoveredshouldincludetheproperstorage,transportation,mixing,anddisposalofchemicalgrouts,additives,andtheirassociatedcontainers.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
